News in the area of technical norms for cables

A new important technical norm EN 50575 Power, control and communication cables – Cables for general applications in construction works subject to reaction to fire requirements was issued in September. Together with this norm was issued also the technical specification CLC/TS 50576 Electric cables – Extended application of test results. The content of both documents was proposed and elaborated in active cooperation with experts from our company on fire parameters of cables, who are members of the work group CENELEC TC20/WG10 Fire performance of the cables. At present are both technical norms being taken over into the system of STN norms through a translation.
